Privacy Policy
The short version
Mini Reddit does not collect, store, or share any personal information. Your preferences stay on your device. The only data that ever leaves your browser is the subreddit name and any question you type into Ask AI — nothing is tied to your identity.
What we collect
| Data | Where it goes | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Dark mode preference Floating icon on/off |
Local device only | Remembers your settings between sessions |
| Subreddit name | api.bgslice.com | Fetches the right insights for that community |
| Questions typed in Ask AI | api.bgslice.com | Used to generate an AI answer, not stored after the request |
We do not collect your name, email, IP address, browsing history, or anything that could identify you.
Local storage
Your settings (dark mode, floating icon toggle) are saved using
Chrome's storage.local API. This data never leaves your
device and is not accessible to us.
API requests
When you browse insights or use Ask AI, the extension sends requests to our server at api.bgslice.com. These requests include the subreddit name and, for Ask AI, the question you typed. We use this to return relevant results.
We do not log or store these queries in association with any user identifier. Standard server access logs (timestamp, response code) may be retained for up to 7 days for debugging purposes.
Third parties
We do not sell, share, or transfer any data to third parties. Ask AI answers are generated using the Google Gemini API — only the text of your question is sent, with no identifying information attached.
Children
Mini Reddit is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the extension after changes means you accept the updated policy.
